Lesson Information

Lessons are structured to be simple, consistent, and easy to follow, both in the lesson and at home.

What to Bring

Please bring the following to each lesson (keep in a tote bag or similar):

  • Drumsticks

  • Drum books (optional)

  • Practice plan booklet

These help ensure lessons run smoothly and that students can follow their practice plan effectively.

Getting to Lessons

Students are responsible for arriving on time.

Primary School

Primary students will usually be collected from class or may make their own way to lessons where appropriate.

Secondary School (Year 7 and above)

Students are responsible for getting themselves to and from lessons.

It is recommended to:

  • inform your classroom teacher

  • set a reminder (e.g. watch alarm) 5 minutes before your lesson

Lesson Locations & Days

  • Central Coast Grammar School — PAC Studio 10 (Monday, Tuesday, Friday)

  • Green Point Christian College — CAPA 15 (Wednesday)

  • Central Coast Adventist School — High School Music, Practice Room 3 (Thursday)

Lesson Attendance & Cancellation Policy

To maintain a consistent and sustainable teaching schedule across multiple school locations, makeup lessons are no longer offered. Instead, lesson credits are provided for eligible absences with sufficient notice.

Student Absences

  • If you need to cancel your lesson, please let your teacher know by 8:30am on the morning of your lesson.

  • Lessons cancelled with sufficient notice will not be charged.

  • If you have paid in advance, a credit will be applied to your next bill.

  • Please limit cancellations to a maximum of two per term. Low attendance may result in losing your spot.

Missed Cancellations

  • Lessons missed without notice are not eligible for credit.

Teacher Cancellations

  • Any lessons cancelled by the teacher will always be credited or rescheduled separately.

Ongoing Progress

Students receive structured practice plans, lesson notes, and learning resources designed to support consistent progress between lessons. This helps students continue developing even if an occasional lesson is missed.

  • Don’t expect perfection every day
