Technique: Accents

Practice each exercise on the snare drum with alternating hands, while the bass drum plays quarter notes.

Play the accents on the snare, toms and cymbals. The accents can also be substituted with doubles, flams or buzz strokes.

Practice with a metronome at various tempos.
