About Chris McCaig

I began playing drums as a teenager in the 1990s, starting with lessons at school before continuing my studies in Sydney at Billy Hyde’s Drumcraft with Milan Troha.

I have been working as a professional drummer and teacher since 1996. Over the years, I’ve performed in a wide range of settings, including cover bands, original projects, national and international touring, television performances, recording sessions and tribute shows. I am currently performing with Live Baby Live: The INXS Tribute Show.

Alongside performing, teaching has been a central part of my career. I currently teach around 60 students each week across Central Coast Grammar School, Central Coast Adventist School, and Green Point Christian College.

My teaching focuses on building strong foundations through clear structure, consistent practice, and helping each student develop their skills and confidence at their own pace.
