RESOURCES

Course Books

Below are the books used in your lessons and practice plan, organised by level.

You don’t need to own every book, since we work from them together in lessons, but if you’d like your own copy to practice from at home, I recommend purchasing the ebook versions using the links below.

Choosing what to purchase

How many resources you buy can depend on your practice pathway:

  • Ramp — no book purchases needed; all resource work happens in lessons.

  • Steps — choose the resources that best suit your interests and practice routine.

  • Ladder — we recommend purchasing all resources used in the plan, to support the additional home practice this pathway involves.

A note on resources

The core of your practice plan is the weekly systems and repertoire songs — that’s the main focus, and where your practice time should go. The books on this page are additional resources that support and reinforce that learning, and we work from them together in lessons. It’s fine if you don’t get through every resource page — they’re there to help, not to add pressure. What matters most is consistent practice on your systems and repertoire each week.

Solo Repertoire (Levels 7-8)

From Level 7, students begin working on snare drum and drum kit solos as part of their repertoire.

Start with the sample pages, with the option to purchase solo books for more solo repertoire.

Note: Some books only available in physical format.

Rockschool Grade Books

Throughout each level, we’ll explore songs from the matching Rockschool grade book and choose one for your project repertoire — using books already available in lessons. Sitting the official exam is entirely optional, as is purchasing your own copy of the book.

Trinity Grade Books

Trinity Rock & Pop books are available as optional repertoire at each level, for students who’d like extra song choices beyond the practice plan.
